Seh' ich in das stille Thal,
Wo im Sonnenscheine
Blumen prangen ohne Zahl,
Blick' ich nur auf Eine. 
Ach! es blickt Ihr Auge blau
Jezt auch auf die Auen;
Im Vergißmeinnicht voll Thau
Kann ich es erschauen.

Sie
Tret' ich an mein Fensterlein,
Wann die Sterne scheinen,
Mögen alle schöner seyn,
Blick' ich nur auf Einen;
Dort gen Abend blickt Er mild
Wohl nach Himmelshöhen,
Denn dort ist ein liebes Bild
In dem Stern zu sehen.

 Je regarde dans la vallée tranquille,
 Où dans l'éclat du soleil
 Des fleurs sans nombre resplendissent,
 Je regarde seulement l'une d'elles.
 Ah ! ses yeux bleus regardent
 Maintenant aussi la prairie,
 Dans les myosotis pleins de rosée,
 Je peux les voir.

Elle :
 Je vais à ma petite fenêtre
 Quand les étoiles brillent,
 Elles peuvent être toutes plus belles,
 Je regarde seulement l'une d'elles.
 Là, dans le soir, il regarde doucement
 Sans doute vers les hauteurs du ciel,
 Car là est sa chère image
 Dans l'étoile à regarder.
