Maiglöckchen läutet in [dem Tal]1,
Das klingt so hell und fein;
So kommt zum Reigen allzumal,
Ihr lieben Blümelein!

Die Blümchen blau und gelb und weiß,
[Die]2 kommen all herbei,
Vergißmeinnicht und Ehrenpreis
[Zeitlos' und Akelei]3.

Maiglöckchen spielt zum Tanz im Nu
Und Alle tanzen dann;
Der Mond sieht ihnen freundlich zu, 
Hat seine Freude dran.

Den Junker Reif verdroß das sehr,
Er kommt ins Tal hinein;
Maiglöckchen spielt zum Tanz nicht mehr,
Fort sind die Blümelein.

Doch kaum der Reif das Tal verläßt,
Da rufet [wiederum]4
Maiglöckchen zu [dem]5 Frühlingsfest
Und läutet [bim bam bum]6.

Nun hält's auch mich nicht mehr zu Haus,
Maiglöckchen ruft auch mich:
Die Blümchen geh'n zum Tanz hinaus,
Zum Tanze geh' auch ich.

't Meiklokje1 klingelt in het dal;
Dat klinkt zo hel en fijn.
Dus kom maar dansen allemaal,
O bloempjes, lief en klein!
 
De bloempjes, blauw en geel en wit,
Die komen allen, blij:
Vergeet-me-niet en ereprijs,
[Tijloos en akelei]2.
 
't Meiklokje speelt ten dans meteen
En allen dansen dan;
De maan kijkt vriend'lijk en sereen,
Heeft veel plezier daarvan.
 
Maar jonker Rijp verdroot dat zeer;
Hij overdekt het dal;
Meiklokje speelt ten dans niet meer,
Weg zijn de bloempjes al.
 
Maar net is Rijp in 't dal geweest,
Daar roept al [wederom]3
Meiklokje op voor 't lentefeest;
En klingelt [bim bam bom]4.
 
Nu kan ook ik niet thuis meer zijn,
Meiklokje roept ook mij:
De bloempjes gaan naar 't dansfestijn,
Dus daar ben ik ook bij.
