Zu wandern ist das Herz verdammt, Das seinen Jugendtag versäumt, Sobald die Lenzessonne flammt, Sobald die Welle wieder schäumt. Verscherzte Jugend ist ein Schmerz Und einer ew'gen Sehnsucht Hort, Nach seinem Lenze sucht das Herz In einem fort, in einem fort!
