Dožd' šumel, raskaty Slyšalisja groma; I gremel, kazalos', On nad kryšej doma. Na maljutku-syna Nežno mat' gljadela; Kolybel' kačaja, Ticho pesnju pela: «[Da]1 ujmis' ty, burja! Ne šumite, eli! Moj maljutka dremlet Sladko v kolybeli! Ty, groza Gospodnja, Ne budi rebënka! Pronesites', tuči Černye, storonkoj.» Bur' eščë ne malo Vperedi, byt'-možet, I ne raz zabota Son ego vstrevožit. Spi, ditja, spokojno! Vot groza stichaet, Materi molitva Son tvoj ochranjaet. Zavtra, kak prosnëš'sja I otkroeš' glazki, Snova vstretiš' solnce, I ljubov', i laski.
