O pain of parting, which he caused,
That he has left me yearning!
O pain of pleading, as he pled,
Of teardrops of his weeping!

He said to me: "Your mourning leave!"
But left, himself in grieving.
 His parting teardrops left me wet,
And in my heart, a shiver.
