Es ist so still, als wär' es Schlafenszeit, Als wär' entschlummert Not und Leid, Gestorben Angst und Qual. Kein Hauch bewegt die Bäume, Wie unschuldsvolle Kinderträume Ziehn leis die Wölklein übers Tal. Wenn fromm ein Kind, bevor es schlafen geht, die Händlein faltet zum Gebet, schweigt selbst der Frevel still. Mir ist, als bete leise der Frühling nun in Kinderweise, die keiner frevelnd stören will.
