Der Neugierige
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): CAT DUT ENG FIN FRE GRE ITA KOR POR
Ich frage keine Blume,
Ich frage keinen Stern,
Sie können [mir]1 nicht sagen,
Was ich erführ' so gern.

Ich bin ja auch kein Gärtner,
Die Sterne stehn zu hoch;
Mein Bächlein will ich fragen,
Ob mich mein Herz belog.

O Bächlein meiner Liebe,
Wie bist du heut so stumm!
Will ja nur Eines wissen,
Ein Wörtchen um und um.

Ja, heißt das eine Wörtchen,
Das andre heißet Nein,
Die beiden Wörtchen schließen
Die ganze Welt mir ein.

O Bächlein meiner Liebe,
Was bist du wunderlich!
Will's ja nicht weiter sagen,
Sag', Bächlein, liebt sie mich?

Il curioso
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
 Non domando a nessun fiore,
 non domando a nessuna stella;
 non potrebbero mai dirmi
 quello che vorrei tanto sapere.

 Non sono un giardiniere,
 le stelle sono troppo alte;
 al mio ruscello voglio domandare
 se il mio cuore mi ha ingannato.

 O ruscelletto del mio amore,
 come sei triste e silenzioso, oggi!
 Vorrei sapere una sola cosa,
 una sola parola.

 "Sì" è una delle due parole,
 l'altra è "no":
 queste due parole
 racchiudono per me tutto il mondo.

 O ruscelletto del mio amore,
 come sei bizzarro!
 Non lo dirò a nessuno,
 dimmi, ruscello: lei mi ama?
