Our translations:  ENG GER

l' eau brillante bruit,
mais le rayon du jour, hélas! Qui s' évapore
va céder à la nuit.

In the middle of the garden
Language: English  after the French (Français)
In the middle of the garden the flower that I desire
begins to open at this moment,
and the breeze in a whisper sighs beneath the lime trees
in a shiver.

Wandering between its banks, the shining water
still moistens the gravel,
but the day's ray, alas! which evaporates
will give way to the night.
