Wie sie glänzt im Morgenblau! -
Daß ich dort mein Wandern hätte,
Wenn im Wald noch liegt der Tau,

Langgelockt und freigelassen,
Wie ich's einst gewesen bin, -
Scharfe Pfeile möcht' ich fassen;
Singend zög' ich dort dahin,

Wo am tiefsten niederhinge
Das Gezweig auf meine Fahrt -
Und an meiner Seite ginge
Schleierlos -- Frau Irmingard!
