Waldmädchen
Language: German (Deutsch)

Bin ein Feuer hell, das lodert
Von dem grünen Felsenkranz,
Seewind ist mein Buhl' und fordert
Mich zum lust'gen Wirbeltanz,
Kommt und wechselt unbeständig,
Steigend wild,
Neigend mild,
Meine schlanken Lohen wend' ich:
Komm nicht nah' mir, ich verbrenn' dich!

Wo die wilden Bäche rauschen
Und die hohen Palmen stehn,
Wenn die Jäger heimlich lauschen,
Viele Rehe einsam gehn.
Bin ein Reh, flieg' durch die Trümmer,
Über die Höh',
Wo im Schnee
Still die letzten Gipfel schimmern,
Folg' mir nicht, erjagst mich nimmer!

Bin ein Vöglein in den Lüften,
Schwing' mich übers blaue Meer,
Durch die Wolken von den Klüften
Fliegt kein Pfeil mehr bis hieher.
Und die Au'n, die Felsenbogen,
Waldeseinsamkeit
Weit, wie weit,
Sind versunken in die Wogen --
Ach, ich habe mich verflogen!

La fanciulla del bosco
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Sono un fuoco luminoso, che divampa
dalla verde corona dei monti,
il vento marino è il mio amante, mi invita
a gioire in vorticosa danza.
Venite e mutate incostanti,
Sfrenata mi innalzo,
lieve discendo,
volgendo le mie agili fiamme:
se tu ti avvicini, ti brucio!

Dove selvaggi scrosciano i torrenti
e crescono alte le palme,
quando si appostano muti i cacciatori,
e passano solitari tanti caprioli.
Io come un capriolo, volo sopra i dirupi,
attraverso le alture,
dove coperte di neve,
calme risplendono le vette più alte,
non seguirmi, non potrai catturarmi!

Sono una creatura dell'aria,
mi levo sopra il mare azzurro,
dagli abissi fin sopra le nuvole,
nessuna freccia può raggiungermi.
Campi e rocce che in arco si levano,
boscaglie solitarie,
restano remoti, tanto lontani,
come affondati in mezzo alle onde --
Ah, volando mi sono smarrita!
