by Max Kalbeck (1850 - 1921)

Entfernte Glocken klangen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Entfernte Glocken klangen
Herauf den stillen See, -
Weiß nicht, woher sie drangen,
Weiß nicht, was sie mir sangen, -
Mir ward so wohl, so weh!

Verworr'ne Stimmen riefen;
Das Ufer lag so fern,
Der Wind, die Wellen schliefen,
Und durch des Himmels Tiefen
Schoß ein verirrter Stern.

Der Mond mit hellem Bicke
Durchmaß die Fluten weit, -
Wohl auf der Strahlenbrücke
Ging sanft gelöst zurücke
Ein Herz zur Ewigkeit.
