(comme avant) Le jouvenceau et le harpiste Le sifflement de l'ouragan annonce le printemps, L'ordre des armées fait résonner la terre, Et comme les flots rugissent hors de leurs rives, Les fils de l'Allemagne se balancent au loin : Le chanteur suit à travers tous les horreurs sauvages, Il laisse comme la tempête et les vagues retentir son chant, Rouler comme le tonnerre, faire rage comme l'ouragan, Cela grandit fais comme les nouvelles fleurs de la liberté ! Si « liberté ! patrie ! » retentissent tout autour, Aucun chant ne sonne mieux aux oreilles des hommes ; Dans le combat, où une telle bannière sacrée flotte L'homme a choisi la plus belle récompense. Vive le peuple où résonne ce chant ! Gloire au héros, que ce peuple a enfanté ! Bientôt le printemps en fleurs, bientôt la paix dorée Avec une brise douce et avec des chants tendres !
