Dort biegt er um das Giebelhaus, Die Taschen voller Gaben, Da strecken sich die Hände aus, Ein jeder möchte einen Strauß, [Fürs liebe]1 Mädel haben. Ich hole mir auch einen Schatz Hinweg von Glas und Schüssel. Hut auf! Wir rennen übern Platz: Herr Lenz, für ihren Busenlatz [Ein']2 gelben Himmelsschlüssel!

El senyor Abril saltironeja avui per la ciutat amb les seves calces blaves. I qui té dues cames joves, salta suculentament alegre, salta sadoll de sol i li compra bitllets de loteria. Allà, tomba la cantonada del frontis de la casa, les butxaques plenes de regals, i tots allarguen la mà, tots voldrien un ram de flors per a l’estimada. Jo també vaig a cercar una estimada, més enllà dels gots i els plats. Posa’t el barret! Correm per la plaça! Senyor Abril, per ornar el seu cosset, una prímula groga!
