Nachhauseweg
Language: German (Deutsch)

Ich häng' mich fest an Vaters Arm,
Mein Herz so voll, mein Kopf so warm,
Schneeflöckchen drehn sich leis und stumm
Im Walzertakt um uns herum.
Und plötzlich, plötzlich tanz ich mit
Und schleife sacht im Walzerschritt:
"La la la, la la la ..."
Dann werd ich roth, der Vater lacht --
Wenn ich nur wüßte, was er gedacht!

The way home
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
I clasp my father's arm tightly,
My heart is so full, my head is so heated,
Snowflakes swirl softly and mutely
All around us in three-four time.
And suddenly, suddenly I dance along
And gently shuffle along in waltz steps:
"La la la, la la la ..."
Then I blush, my father laughs --
If I only knew what he was thinking!
