Da ward auch die zur Frucht Erweckte,
die schüchterne und schönerschreckte,
die heimgesuchte Magd geliebt.
Die Blühende, die Unentdeckte,
in der es hundert Wege giebt.
Da ließen sie sie gehn und schweben
und treiben mit dem jungen Jahr;
ihr dienendes Marien-Leben
ward königlich und wunderbar.
Wie feiertägliches Geläute
ging es durch alle Häuser groß;
und die einst mädchenhaft Zerstreute
war so versenkt in ihren Schoß
und so erfüllt von jenem Einen
und so für Tausende genug,
dass alles schien, sie zu bescheinen,
die wie ein Weinberg war und trug.

Alors apparut celle qui fut suscitée pour porter fruit,
la discrète, si belle dans son effroi,
la Vierge d'amour chez elle visitée.
La femme en fleurs, dans son intégrité,
et qui est voie multiple.
Elle allait librement, comme en apesanteur
éclose avec l'an neuf ;
sa vie consacrée à sa mission mariale
en devenait royale et merveilleuse.
Comme un carillon de jour de fête,
cela traversait chaque logis ;
et celle qui naguère s'ébattait comme une jeune fille
s'absorba dans ce travail en elle,
tellement envahie par cet Un
--et cela pour la multitude humaine--
que tout s'illuminait de son illumination,
elle, telle une vigne, portant.
