Au ciel, vers minuit, un ange volait.
De sa douce voix il chantait.
Le chœur des étoiles, 
les globes sans fin gardant le silence, écoutaient.

Son chant célébrait les Fidèles, les Saints 
Foulant les célestes jardins,
De Dieu redisait la grandeur,
Et son hymne pur révélait sa candeur.

Une âme d'enfant reposait en ses bras,
