Avanti! Ancora ebbro del vino splendente, addio miei cari, dobbiamo separarci, addio montagne, e tu casa paterna! Una forza mi spinge prepotente via. Il sole non resta fermo nel cielo, è spinto ad andare per terre e per mari. L'onda non si ferma sulla spiaggia solitaria. Le tempeste urlano con forza per la contrada. Con le nuvole che corrono se ne va l'uccello, e canta lontano un canto familiare, così è spinto il ragazzo per boschi e per campi, per paragonare alla madre il mondo del suo viaggio. Qui lo salutano i noti uccelli sul mare, che volarono qui dalle pianure natie, qui profumano i fiori amici intorno a lui, gli portano l'aria di casa. Gli uccelli, che conoscono la sua casa paterna, i fiori, che lui piantò per offrirli all'amata, e l'amore lo segue, lo tiene per mano, così gli diventa patria la terra più lontana.
