Der Wald singt Lieder fern und nah
Und die Blumenfackeln lodern.

Die Luft wie blau und wie grün die Höh'n ,
Und wie rauschen die Bächlein zu Thale! 
Für dich, mein Herz, ist die Welt so schön,
Drum koste die Freudenschale.

Trink' Jugend und Muth in hastigem Zug 
Und sage, wer herrlicher zechte! 
Durchschwärm' in fröhlichem Wanderflug
Holdselige Tage und Nächte!
