Die Wasserlilie kichert leis'
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die [Wasserlilie kichert]1 leis':
„Ich muß euch ein Ding verraten,
Ich muß euch verraten, was gestern Nachts
Zwei junge Verliebte thaten.

Sie kamen mit Vetter- und Basenschaft
Den Strom herunter geglitten,
Sie saßen, weil Lauscher im Boot, ganz still,
Mit [sehr erbaulichen]2 Sitten.

Sie tauchte die Hand in's Wogenblau,
Den klopfenden Puls zu kühlen;
Er wollte zur selben Zeit einmal
Noch der Wärme des Wassers fühlen.

Und unter dem Wasser begegnen sich
Verstohlen [die Beiden]3 Hände,
Und fliehen sich und fangen sich --
[Es]4 nimmt das Spiel kein Ende.

Die Basen haben Nichts gemerkt
Von der glücklichen Liebesstunde,
Ich aber hab' es wohl geseh'n
Tiefher aus dem [lauschenden]5 Grunde.”
