Bebe mis lágrimas, bebe mi sangre, la sangre misma de mi corazón recibirás, y si bálsamo para tu fiebre fuera, te daría un minuto de sosiego. No vuelvas tu bello rostro, ¿no soy tu novia, no soy tuya? ¿No está en la vida y en la tumba junto al mío tu lugar? ¿No piensas que ella, que solo de ti en este oscuro mundo la luz recibe, soportará la noche que sobre ella caerá cuando tus ojos se apaguen? Vivir sin ti, sola, vida de mi vida, ¡no! Oh, deja que respire el aire, el bendito aire que tú has exhalado, y lo que en sus alas traiga, muerte o vida, será dulce para mí.
