Herbstentschluß
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT ENG FRE
Trübe Wolken, Herbstesluft,
Einsam wandl' ich meine Straßen,
Welkes Laub, kein Vogel ruft --
Ach, wie stille! wie verlassen!

Todeskühl der Winter naht;
Wo sind, Wälder, eure Wonnen?
Fluren, eurer vollen Saat
Goldne Wellen sind verronnen!

Es ist worden kühl und spät,
Nebel auf der Wiese weidet,
Durch die öden Haine weht
Heimweh; -- Alles flieht und scheidet.

Herz, vernimmst du diesen Klang
Von den felsentstürzten Bächen?
Zeit gewesen wär' es lang,
Daß wir ernsthaft uns besprechen!

Herz, du hast dir selber oft
Wehgethan, und hast es Andern,
Weil du hast geliebt, gehofft;
Nun ist's aus, wir müssen wandern!

Auf die Reise will ich fest
Ein dich schließen und verwahren,
Draußen mag ein linder West,
Oder Sturm vorüberfahren;

Daß wir unsern letzten Gang
Schweigsam wandeln und alleine,
Daß auf unsern Grabeshang
Niemand als der Regen weine!

Résolution d'automne
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Nuages sombres, brises d'automne,
Solitaire, je vais mon chemin,
Feuilles fanées, aucun oiseau ne chante --
Ah ! quel silence ! quelle solitude !

L'hiver approche, froid comme la mort ;
Où sont, ô vents, vos délices ?
Champs, de vos graines pleines
Les vagues dorées ont disparu !

C'est devenu frais et tardif,
Les brumes paissent sur les prairies ,
À travers les bois déserts souffle
Le mal du pays ; -- tout s'enfuit et s'en va.

Cœur, entends-tu ce bruit
De ruisseaux dévalant sur les rochers ?
Il est grand temps,
Que nous parlions sérieusement ensemble !

Cœur, toi-même tu t'es souvent
Fais mal ainsi qu'aux autres,
parce que tu as aimé, espéré ;
Maintenant c'est fini, nous devons aller !

Pendant le voyage, fermement
Je t'enfermerai et je te garderai en sûreté
Même si dehors un doux vent d'ouest
Ou une tempête passe ;

Notre dernière étape,
Parcourons-la en silence et seuls,
Que sur notre pierre tombale
Personne ne pleure à part la pluie !
