Auf dem Flusse
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  AFR CAT CHI DUT ENG ENG FIN FRE FRI HEB IRI ITA KOR LIT SPA
Der du so lustig rauschtest,
Du heller, wilder Fluß,
Wie still bist du geworden,
Giebst keinen Scheidegruß.

Mit harter, starrer Rinde
Hast du dich überdeckt,
Liegst kalt und unbeweglich
Im Sande [hingestreckt]1.

In deine Decke grab' ich
Mit einem spitzen Stein
Den Namen meiner Liebsten
Und Stund' und Tag hinein:

Den Tag des ersten Grußes,
Den Tag, an dem ich ging,
Um Nam' und Zahlen windet
Sich ein zerbrochner Ring.

Mein Herz, in diesem Bache
Erkennst du nun dein Bild?
Ob's unter seiner Rinde
Wohl auch so reißend schwillt?

Ar an sruthán
Language: Irish (Gaelic)  after the German (Deutsch)
Is tú bhí ’rith faoi lánluas
A shrutháin fhiáin ghlé
Nach ciúin anois atá tú
Gan beannacht ó do bhéal.

 Tá crústa daingean dúr ort
In áit an tsíoda mhín,
Nach fuar atá an luí ort
Sa ghaineamh, is nach righin.

Is ar do chraiceann greanaim
Le cloch go cruinn ’s go mall
Sea breacaim síos a hainm
An dáta is an ball

An lá ar casadh orm í
An lá a chuas ar fán.
Is féach tá fainne briste
Mar fhráma ar ’n iomlán.

An léir, an léir a chroí liom
Ón sruth do chomh-íomhá?
An féidir gur faoin dromchla
An chaise chéanna tá?
