Tengo una paloma mensajera a mi servicio, que me es leal y fiel; nunca se queda corta en llegar ni pasa de largo. La envío miles de veces por noticias cada día, por muchos lugares queridos, hasta la casa de mi amada. Allí mira por la ventana a hurtadillas, espía su aspecto y sus pasos, le da juguetonamente mis saludos y me trae los suyos. No necesito ya escribir cartas, le doy solo mis lágrimas. Ella no se equivoca y celosamente me sirve. Día y noche, en la vigilia y en el sueño, para ella todo es igual, viaja y viaja cuanto puede, tal es su dedicación. No se fatiga ni se cansa, el camino siempre es nuevo para ella, no necesita llamada ni recompensa, tan fiel me es la paloma. Por ello la abrigo fielmente en mi pecho, seguro del mejor provecho. Se llama… ¡la nostalgia! ¿La conocéis? Es la mensajera de los fieles sentimientos.
