Flammenauge, dunkles Haar
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Russian (Русский)
Available translation(s): CAT DUT ENG FIN FRE ITA
Flammenauge, dunkles Haar,
Knabe wonnig und verwogen,
Kummer ist durch dich hinein
in mein armes Herz gezogen!

Kann in Eis der Sonne Brand,
sich in Nacht der Tag verkehren?
Kann die heisse Menschenbrust
atmen ohne Glutbegehren?

Ist die Flur so voller Licht,
daß die Blum' im Dunkel stehe?
Ist die Welt so voller Lust,
daß das Herz in Qual vergehe?

Vlammend' ogen, donker haar
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Vlammend' ogen, donker haar,
Jongen, lief en onverschrokken,
Kommer is door jou opeens
In mijn arme hart getrokken!

Kan in ijs de zonnebrand,
Kan in nacht de dag verkeren?
Kan een vuur'ge mensenborst
Aad'men zonder vuurbegeren?

Is het veld zo vol van licht
Om de bloemen te verduist'ren?
Is de wereld vol van lust
Om het hart met pijn te teist'ren?
