4 Schaue doch und erhöre mich, Herr, mein Gott!
  Erleuchte meine Augen, daß ich nicht im Tode entschlafe,
5 daß [nicht mein Feind]5 rühme, er sei mein mächtig worden,

De 13e psalm (Heer, hoe lang nog)

1 Heer! Hoe lang nog zult gij mij geheel vergeten?
  Hoe lang nog uw aangezicht verbergen voor mij?
2 Hoe lang nog moet ik dragen mijn diepe zorgen
  En met angsten mij kwellen alle dagen?
3 Hoe lang nog zal zich mijn vijand1 boven mij verheffen?
4 Zie toch toe en verhoor mij toch, Heer mijn God!
  Geef licht weer aan mijn ogen, dat ik niet de doodsslaap ten prooi val.
5 Laat niet mijn vijand2 pochen: 'Ik heb hem overwonnen!'
  En laat mijn tegenstanders blij niet wezen/zijn3 
  dat ik lig verslagen. 
6 Mijn hoop is echter deze, dat Gij genadig zijt;
  Verheugd is mijn hart, dat Gij zo gaarne helpt.
  Ik wil de Heer toezingen, dat Hij zo goed voor mij is.
