Не Божиим громом горе ударило,
Не тяжелой скалой навалилося,
Собиралось оно малыми тучами,
Затянули тучки небо ясное,
Посеяло горе мелким дождичком,
Мелким дождичком осенниим.

А и сеет оно давным-давно,
И сечет оно без умолку,
Без умолку, без устали,
Без конца сечет, без отдыха.
Уже полно горе дуб ломать по прутикам,
Щипати по листикам!

А и бывало же другим счастьице:
Налетало горе вихрем бурею,
Ворочало горе дубы с корнем вон.

Ni comme la chute d'un lourd rocher,
Il est venu comme des nuages légers,
Qui recouvrent le ciel clair,
Le malheur se dissémine comme une petite pluie,
Une petite pluie d'automne.

Il a été semé il y a longtemps,
Et il frappe sans cesse,
Sans cesse, sans relâche,
Sans fin il fouette, sans répit.
Quand le malheur a brisé le chêne en brindilles,
Il arrache les feuilles,

À d'autres il arrive un meilleur sort :
Le malheur s'abat comme une tempête
Et arrache les chênes par les racines.
