Ispugalsja ja! A žuk gudit, zlitsja, Kryl'ja rastopyril, schvatit' menja chočet! . . . I naletel, v visoček menja udaril! JA pritailsja, njanjuška, prisel, bojus' poševel'nut'sja! Tol'ko glazok odin čut'-čut' otkryl, I čto-že, poslušaj, njanjuška: Žuk ležit, složivši lapki, kverchu nosikom, na spinke, I už ne zlitsja, i usami ne ševelit, I ne gudit už, tol'ko krylyški drožat. Čto-ž, on umer, il' pritvorilsja? Čto-ž ėto, čto-že, skaži mne, njanja, S žukom-to stalos'? Menja udaril, a sam svalilsja! Čto-ž ėto s nim stalos', s žukom-to!
