Ewig jung ist nur die Sonne
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG FRE
Heute fanden meine Schritte mein vergeßnes Jugendtal,

Only the sun is forever young
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Today my steps led to the forgotten valley of my youth;
the floor of the valley lay in waste, the hills were bare.
My trees, my dreams, my heights dark with beech trees–
only the sun is forever young, only it is forever beautiful.
Over there in the reedy low spot, where a weary pool lies,
in the time of my youth a lively stream was  cradled;
through the heath, through the willows came the sound of a wandering herd–
only the sun is forever young, only it is forever beautiful.
