О, как я жить хочу! - Как страстно жажду света;

Song of a disillusioned man
Language: English  after the Russian (Русский)
"Die!" - the day keeps telling me, tiresome and tedious
"Die!" - the night whispers to me with mystic gloom
And in a burdensome life loaded with anguish
I wander without purpose and with weary feet.
"Die!" - my mind keeps telling me when inside my downcast heart
I had sensed a hint of a bright dream of love.
But you, my gentle friend, my bright-winged angel,
with your tender face, always keep telling me "Live!"
O, how I want to live! How passionately I long for light,
a return of fervent reveries, of that impossible dream!
Tell me how to bring back that fleeting summer.
Tell me how to revive those faded flowers!
Tell me!
