Prob'jot chas svidan'ja,— Potupja [predatel'skij]1 vzor, V volnen'i, v tomlen'i neznan'ja, [Bojas' i zhelaja]2 priznan'ja,3 Nachnjosh' i prervjosh' razgovor... I v muku svidan'e!.. Ne vymolvish' slova... Nemejesh'... robejesh'... drozhish'... Dusha, proklinaja okovy, Vsja v rechi izlit'sja b gotova... [No tol'ko gljadish' i molchish' — Net sily, net slova!..]4 Nastanet razluka,— I, kholodno, gordo prostjas', Ujdjosh' s svojej tajnoj i mukoj!.. A v serdce istoma i skuka, I vechnost'ju [nam kazhdyj]5 chas, I smert' nam razluka!.. I sladko, i bol'no... I trepet bezumnyj zatikh; I serdcu legko i razdol'no...
