Der Abend

Umsonst Aurore am Himmelstore hold färben mag den jungen Tag, denn der Geliebten Bild, das meine Seele füllt, naht mir allein im Abendschein. Morgenrot weichet, Sonne sich zeiget segnend die Welt am Himmelszelt. Auch der Geliebte wacht, doch bis ihr Aug' mir lacht, muss es, o Pein, erst Abend sein. Stunden, entweichet, nicht träge schleichet, bis die erklingt, die Glück nur bringt. Ach, dieses Tages Gang dünket mir Jahre lang', wird sie erst mein im Abendschein. Der Dämm'rung Flügel deckt Tal und Hügel, die Arbeit ruht nach Tagesglut. Ha, wie mich Lust belebt, denn mir entgegen schwebt die Teure mein im Abendschein!
