Translation Singable translation by V. Rozhdestvensky

Ne shchebechi, solovejku
Language: Ukrainian (Українська)
Ne shchebechi, solovejku,
pіd vіknom blizen'ko,
ne shchebechi, maljusen'kij,
na zorі ranen'ko.

Jak zat'okhkaєsh, jak svisnesh,
Nenache zagraєsh:
Tak ї b'єt'sja v grudjakh serce,
Dushu razdiraє.

Jak zasvishchesh golosnіshe,
A dalі tikhen'ko,
Azh u dushі pokholono,
Azh zamre serden'ko.

Zovsіm troshki perestanesh,
Luna vsjudu pіjde,
Ti v temnu nіch veselishsja
І jak sonce zіjde.

Tvoja pіsnja duzhe garna,
Ti garno spivaєsh,
Ti shchaslivij-sparuvavsja
І gnіzdechko maєsh...

A ja bіdnij, beztalanij!
Bez pari, bez khati,
Ne dostalos' menі v svіtі
Veselo spіvati.

Sonce zіjde, ja nuzhusja,
I zakhodit' - plachu:
Kotru ljublju dіvchinon'ku,
Tіeї ne bachu.

Davno j chutki vzhe ne maju
Pro milu dіvchinu,
Cіlij vіk svіj use plachus'
Na likhu godinu.

Ne shchebechi, solovejku,
Jak sonce prigrіє!
Ne shchebechi, maljusen'kij,
І jak vecherіє!

Ti leti, spіvaj tim ljudjam,
Kotrі veseljat'sja:
Voni pіsneju tvoєju
Budut' zabavljat'sja.

A menі tak godit'sja:
Stogne - ne spіvaє;
Nekhaj stogne kolo mene,
Ta smert' vozvіshchaє.

Oj, ne poj ty, solovejko
Language: Russian (Русский)  after the Ukrainian (Українська)
 Oj, ne poj ty, solovejko,
 pod oknom blizen'ko,
 ptichka malaja,
ne poj ty na zore ranen'ko.

 Kak zashchelkajesh', zasvishchesh', -
 slovno zaigrajesh'.
 I mojo zab'jotsja serdce,
 grud' mne razdiraja.

 Kak zasvishchesh', gromko, gromko,
 a potom - stikhaja,
 na dushe tak grustno stanet,
 serdce zamirajet.

A kak pet' ty perestanesh', -
 `ekho otzovjotsja.
 Ved' tebe i dnjom, i noch'ju
 khorosho pojotsja.

 Khorosho pojosh' ty pesni,
 vsem legko s toboju,
 ljubish' ty svoju podruzhku
 i gnezdo rodnoje.

 A ja, bednyj, neschastlivyj,
 bez zheny, bez doma:
 ne prishlos' na belom svete
 pet' mne, molodomu.

Solnce vskhodit - ja v pechali,
 a zajdjot - rydaju;
 toj, kotoruju ljublju ja,
 toj vse ne vstrechaju.

 Dazhe vestochki mne netu,
 o mojej devchine.
Celyj vek svoj l'ju ja sljozy
 o likhoj sud'bine.

 Oj, ne poj ty, solovejko,
 Solnce chut' prigrejet!
 Ptichka malaja, ne poj ty,
 lish' zavecherejet!

Ty leti i poj tem ljudjam,
 chto vse veseljatsja;
 ljudi pesneju tvojeju
 budut zabavljat'sja.

 Mne davno uzh `eta pesnja
 dushu razdirajet,
 vse bol'neje b'jotsja serdce -
 azh dukh zamirajet.

 Pust' teper' sova lesnaja
 nado mnoj rydajet.
Pust' krichit i tikho stonet -
 smert' mne predveshchajet.
