Солнце утомилось, ходя день-деньской; Тихо догорая, гаснет за рекой. Край далёкий неба весь зарей облит, Заревом пожара блещет и горит. В воздухе смолкает шум дневных тревог; Тишь ночную с неба шлёт на землю бог. Ходят огневые полосы в реке; Грустно где-то песня льётся вдалеке. Тихо... Отчего же в сердце у меня Не стихает горе прожитого дня? Отчего ж так больно скорбь сжимает грудь? Боже мой! боже мой! дай мне отдохнуть!
