Per campi e per boschi, fischiettando la mia canzone, vado di luogo in luogo! E al ritmo si anima, con la musica si muove tutto in me. Aspetto impaziente il primo fiore in giardino, la prima gemma sull'albero. Essi salutano i miei canti, e quando ritorna l'inverno, ricanto ancora questo sogno. Lo canto nello spazio, sulle distese di ghiaccio, bello fiorisce l'inverno! Anche questo fiore passa, e nuova gioia si trova sulle alture ridenti. E appena presso il tiglio trovo i giovani, subito li rendo vivaci. Il garzone addormentato si risveglia, la fanciulla scontrosa si muove alla mia melodia.
