Wenn der Stern überm Kirchthurm steht Mitten in der Nacht, Weiß ich, wo der Weg hingeht Mitten in der Nacht. Mägdlein, das wartet mein, Wartet mein zum Stelldichein, Giebt mir in Kauf Alle seine Lieb' und Huld, Ach! du liebe Ungeduld! Sternlein zieh' auf! Klingling! ans Fensterlein Überm Spalier, Klettre wie die Katz hinein Übers Spalier, Und in meinem Sinn voraus Mal' ich mir die Freude aus, Freuden zu Hauf, Lös' ihr alle Zöpfelein, Nestel' ihr alle Knöpfelein -- Fensterlein auf! Im Stübchen mit knapper Noth, Warm ist's und nett, Herzt mich das Mädel halb todt, Warm ist's und nett. Quan l’estrella és damunt el campanar al mig de la nit, jo sé per on va el camí al mig de la nit. Una noia m’espera, m’espera per a una cita, ella m’ofereix tot el seu amor i favor, ai! Tu cara impaciència! Surt, petita estrella! Ning-ning! A la petita finestra damunt l’enreixat, m’enfilo com un gat damunt l’enreixat, i al meu esperit, amb anticipació, m’imagino el plaer, els plaers en abundància, desfaig totes les seves trenes, palpejo els seus botonets – Obre’t finestra! Amb cuita m’esquitllo a la cambra, és calenta i agradable, la noia m’abraça fins a deixar-me mig mort, és calenta i agradable. Estimada, sigues bona i pietosa, perquè pugui prendre alè i respirar una mica, no em besis tan fort, amb tan deler, altrament despertaràs els veïns, noia, para!
