Souzvuky

Jest Příroda jak chrám, kde živoucí jsou sloupy,
z nich někdy vyjda hlas cos temně napoví;
les velký symbolů je okres chrámový,
ty zrakem přátelským zří na toho, kdo vstoupí.

Směs ozvěn spojených jak jeden souzvuk vydá,
jež přišly z daleka a v jedno splynou v něm,
jak světla souhlas den, jak noc je souhlas těm,
tak vůně si i ton i barva odpovídá.

Jsou jako dětské tílko vůně čerstvé, milé,
jak hoboj sladké, vůně zelené jak tráva,
— a jiné nádherné a hříšné, rozmařilé,

Jež do nekonečna se rozptylujíc víří,
jak ambra, kadidlo, jak benzoë, mošus dává:
v jich zpěvu duch i tělo jásajíce hýří.
