Lors m'est auis que dedens mon sein tendre
 Ie tiens le bien, ou i'ay tant aspiré.
 Et pour lequel i'ay si haut souspire,
 Que de fanglots ay souuent cuidé fendre.

Ô dous sommeil, ô nuit à moy heureuse !
 Plaisant repos, plein de tranquilité,
 Continuez toutes les nuiz mon songe :

Et si iamais ma poure ame amoureuse
 Ne doit auoir de bien en vérité.
 Faites au moins qu'elle en ait en mensonge.

Gleich wenn ich endlich abends so weit bin,
daß ich im weichen Bett des Ruhns beginne,
zieht sich der arme Antrieb meiner Sinne
aus mir zurück und mündet zu dir hin.
 
Dann glaub ich an die Zartheit meiner Brüste
das, was ich ganz begehre, anzuhalten,
und so begehre, daß mir ist, als müßte
mein Schrein danach, wo es entsteht, mich spalten.
 
O Schlaf, der nachgibt, Nacht für mich gemeinte,
innige Stillung, glückliche Genüge,
halt vor für aller meiner Nächte Traum.
 
Ist für das immer wieder mir Verneinte
in dieser vollen Wirklichkeit nicht Raum,
so laß es mir gehören in der Lüge.
