by Heinrich Heine (1797 - 1856)
Translation by Vil'gelm Veniaminovich Levik (1907 - 1982)

Jugend, die mir täglich schwindet
Language: German (Deutsch)
Jugend, die mir täglich schwindet,
Wird durch raschen Mut ersetzt,
Und mein kühnrer Arm umwindet
Noch viel schlankre Hüften jetzt.

Tat auch manche sehr erschrocken,
Hat sie doch sich bald gefügt;
Holder Zorn, verschämtes Stocken
Wird von Schmeichelei besiegt.

Doch, wenn ich den Sieg genieße,
Fehlt das Beste mir dabei.
Ist es die verschwundne, süße,
Blöde Jugendeselei?

Yunost` konchena
Language: Russian (Русский)  after the German (Deutsch)
Yunost` konchena. Prixodit
Derzkoj zrelosti pora,
I ruka smelee brodit
Vdol` prelestnogo bedra.

Ne odna, vspy'liv snachala,
Mne sdavalas`, oslabev,
Lest` i derzost` pobezhdala
Lozhny'j sty'd i mily'j gnev.

No v blazhenstvax naslazhden`ya
Prelest` chuvstva umerla.
Gde vy', sladkie tomlen`ya,
Robost` yunogo osla?
