Windes Rauschen, Gottes Flügel,
Tief in kühler Waldesnacht;
Wie der Held in Rosses Bügel,
Schwingt sich des Gedankens Macht.
Wie die alten Tannen sausen,
Hört man Geistes Wogen brausen.

Herrlich ist der Flamme Leuchten
In des Morgenglanzes [Roth]1,
Oder die das Feld [befeuchten]2,
Blitze, schwanger oft von Tod.
Rasch die Flamme zuckt und lodert,
Wie zu Gott hinaufgefodert.

Ewig's Rauschen sanfter Quellen
Zaubert Blumen aus dem Schmerz,
Trauer doch in linden [Wellen]3
Schlägt uns lockend an das Herz;
Fernab hin der Geist gezogen,
Die uns locken, durch die Wogen.

Drang des Lebens aus der Hülle,
Kampf der starken Triebe wild,
Wird zur schönsten Liebesfülle,
Durch des Geistes Hauch gestillt.
Schöpferischer Lüfte Wehen
Fühlt man durch die Seele gehen.

Notte nel bosco (Nel bosco)

Sussurra il vento, come ala divina,    
fresca è la notte nel fitto del bosco,
e come l'eroe che sul cavallo balza,     
la forza del pensiero si leva in alto,
e nel sussurro degli antichi abeti
par di sentire del nostro cuore i moti.
 
Maestosa è la luce d'incendio
Del mattino che tutto risplende rosso,
e così pure il fulmine sul campo,
che portatore di morte è assai spesso.
Guizza e arde veloce la fiamma
Come se verso Dio fosse chiamata.
 
Eterne mormorano delicate fonti
E come per magia fiorisce il dolore,
E la tristezza in  onde lievi,
Batte allettante dentro il nostro cuore.
Lontano lo spirito viene trasportato 
Da quelle onde che ci hanno incantato.
 
La vita che aspira i suoi limiti a spezzare,
La lotta selvaggia degli impulsi più acuti,
Verso il più bello appagamento d'amore,
dall'alito  dello spirito vengono placati.
Spira  una brezza vivificante 
Che l'anima nostra tutta pervade.
 
Sussurra il vento, come ala divina,    
fresca è la notte nel fitto del bosco,
liberata da ogni catena
la forza del pensiero si leva in alto,
Nell'aria ascoltiamo senza sgomento
Mormorare gli spiriti, pare quasi un canto.
