Richten will ich Tisch und Gastmahl
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Italian (Italiano)
Our translations:  ENG FRE
Richten will ich Tisch und Gastmahl,
Laden die unselig lieben;
Und mein Herz geb' ich zu essen,
Und zu trinken ihnen Tränen.
Seufzer, Klagen sind die Diener,
Die Verliebten zu bedienen;
Und der Schenk soll schwarzer Tod sein;
Weint ihr Steine, seufzt ihr Mauern!
Heil'ger Tod, das soll der Schenk sein;
Steine, seufzt und rufet "Ach!" nur.

Je dresserai une table pour un banquet
Language: French (Français)  after the German (Deutsch)
Je dresserai une table pour un banquet,
J'inviterai ceux qui sont malheureux en amour ;
Et je leur donnerai mon cœur à manger
Et mes larmes à boire.
Soupirs et plaintes seront les serviteurs
Pour servir les amants ;
Et l'échanson sera la mort noire :
Pleurez, vous les pierres, soupirez, vous les murs !
C'est la sainte mort qui sera l'échanson.
Soupirez, pierres, et criez : « Hélas ! ».
