Vcherashnyaya noch` by'la tak svetla.
Vcherashnyaya noch` vsyo zvyozdy' zazhgla tak yasno,
Chto, glyadya na xolmy' i dremlyushhij les,
Na vody', blestyashhie bleskom nebes,
YA dumal: o, zhit` v e`tom mire chudes prekrasno!

Prekrasny' i volny' i dal` stepej,
Prekrasna v odezhde zelyony'x vetvej dubrava;
Prekrasna lyubov` s vechno svezhim venkom,
I druzhby' zvezda s neizmenny'm luchom,
I pesen vostorg s ozaryonny'm chelom, i slava!

Vzglyanul ya na nebo, tam tverd` yasna;
Vy'soko, vy'soko vosxodit ona nad bezdnoj;
Tam zvyozdy' zhivy'e katyatsya v ogne...
I detskoe chuvstvo prosnulos` vo mne;
[I dumal ya: luchshe]1 nam v toj [tishine]2 nadzvyozdnoj!
