"Du [holdes]1 Bübchen zu uns komm!"
Der Knabe [naht, und staunt, und]2 weilt,
Und ist von [allem]3 Schmerz geheilt.

Aus [Saaten]4 flötet Wachtelschlag,
Mit irren [Lichtern]5 spielt der Tag;
[Und auf den Blümlein in der Au]6
Erglänzt des Himmels feuchter Thau.

Ins [hohe]7 Gras legt er sich hin:
Läßt über sich die Wolken zieh'n -
An [Mutter Erde]8 angeschmiegt,
Hat ihn der Traumgott eingewiegt.

La rosée humide du ciel brille.

Il s'allonge dans l'herbe fraîche,
Et laisse les nuages filer au-dessus de lui,
