Am grünen See von Nemi

Beside the lake of Nemi
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Beside the lake of Nemi a maple spreads its boughs, thro' its leafy recesses a sound og sighing goes. Beside the lake of Nemi a minstrel young goes past; he hums a song the while from his eye the tears fall fast. Beside the lake of Nemi the tide doth murmur low; the maple and the minstrel, what ails them doth not know. Beside the lake of Nemi stands a hostel well renown'd, good fare and wine in plenty within its walls abound. Yon maple and yon minstrel, they are a foolish pair; if they would seek that hostel, in wine they'd drown their care.
