Die Schwalben zieh'n und Schwäne
Es blüht der Weidenbaum:
Mein Rößlein schüttelt die Mähne
Und beißt im seinen Zaum.
Das schönste Kind von allen
Läßt trauernd ihr Tüchlein wehn;
Zwei Tränen ließ ich fallen
Doch niemand hat's geseh'n.
Es steht ein Pfahl, ein bunter,
Am Scheideweg im Feld:
Der weist ins Dorf hinunter
Und in die weite Welt.
In Osten oder [Westen]1,
Wo find ich wohl das Glück?
Ich glaub' es ist am besten

floreix el roure de la devesa:
El meu caballet agita les crins
i mossega les seva brida.
La noia més bella de totes
deixa onejar plorant el seu mocadoret,
dues llàgrimes es deixen caure
però ningú ho ha vist.
Hi ha un pal, multicolor,
a la cruïlla en el camp.
Indica al poble cap avall
o cap a l'ample món.
A l'est o a l'oest,
