Abendlich [schon]1 rauscht der Wald Aus den tiefsten Gründen, Droben wird der Herr nun bald [An die Sternlein zünden]2, Wie so stille in den Schlünden, Abendlich nur rauscht der Wald. Alles geht zu seiner Ruh, [Wald und Welt versausen]3, Schauernd hört der Wandrer zu, Sehnt sich [recht]4 nach Hause, Hier in Waldes [grüner]5 Klause Herz, geh' [endlich auch]6 zur Ruh!
