Liederfolge nach Gedichten von Hermann Hesse

Song Cycle by Yrjö Henrik Kilpinen (1892 - 1959)

1. Liebeslied
 (Sung text)

Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich wollt ich wär eine Blume,
Du kämest still gegangen,
Nähmst mich zum Eigentume
In deine Hand gefangen.

Auch wär ich gern ein roter Wein
Und flösse süß durch deinen Mund
Und ganz und gar in dich hinein
Und machte dich und mich gesund.

  • by Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962), "Liebeslied", subtitle: "(Mai 1922)", written 1922

2. Wo mag meine Heimat sein?
 (Sung text)

Language: German (Deutsch)
Wo mag meine Heimat sein?
Meine Heimat ist klein,
Geht von Ort zu Ort,
Nimmt mein Herz mit sich fort,
Gibt mir Weh, gibt mir Ruh;
Meine Heimat bist du.

Text Authorship:

  • by Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962), "Liebeslied", subtitle: "(1921/22)", written 1921/2

3. Dunkle Augen
 (Sung text)

Language: German (Deutsch)
Mein Heimweh und meine Liebe
Ist heut in dieser heißen Nacht
Süß wie ein Duft von fremden Blumen
Zu heißem Leben aufgewacht.

Mein Heimweh und meine Liebe
Und all mein Glück und Mißgeschick
Steht wie ein stummes Lied geschrieben
In deinem dunklen Märchenblick.

Mein Heimweh und meine Liebe,
Der Welt und allem Lärm entflohn,
Hat sich in deinen dunklen Augen
Erbaut einen heimlichen Königsthron.

Text Authorship:

  • by Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962), "Dunkle Augen", written 1902

4. Ich fragte dich, warum dein Auge
 (Sung text)

Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich fragte dich, warum dein Auge gern
In meinem Auge ruht,
So wie ein reiner Himmelsstern
In einer dunklen Flut.

Du sahest lang mich an,
Wie man ein Kind mit Blicken mißt,
Und sagtest freundlich dann:
Ich bin dir gut, weil du so traurig bist.

Text Authorship:

  • by Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962), "Ich fragte dich", written 1898, appears in Maria, no. 4

5. Allein
 (Sung text)

Language: German (Deutsch)
Es führen über die Erde
Straßen und Wege viel,
Aber alle haben
Dasselbe Ziel.

Du kannst reiten und fahren
Zu zweien und zu drein,
Den letzten Schritt mußt du
Gehen allein.

Drum ist kein Wissen
Und Können so gut,
Als daß man alles Schwere
Alleine tut.

Text Authorship:

  • by Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962), "Allein", written 1906

6. Glück  [sung text not yet checked]

Text Authorship:

  • by Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962), "Glück", written 1907

7. Traum
 (Sung text)

Language: German (Deutsch)
Es ist immer derselbe Traum:
Ein rotblühender Kastanienbaum,
Ein Garten, voll von Sonnenflor,
Einsam ein altes Haus davor.

Dort, wo der stille Garten liegt,
Hat meine Mutter mich gewiegt;
Vielleicht - es ist so lange her -
Steht Garten, Haus und Baum nicht mehr.

Vielleicht geht jetzt ein Wiesenweg
Und Pflug und Egge drüber weg,
Von Heimat, Garten, Haus und Baum
Ist nichts geblieben als mein Traum.
