Спрашивала ветра мать:
«Где изволил пропадать?
Али звезды воевал?
Али волны всё гонял?»

«Не гонял я волн морских,
Звезд не трогал золотых;
Я дитя оберегал,
Колыбелочку качал!»

Le vent, le soleil et l'aigle.

L'aigle s'est envolé vers la maison,
Le soleil s'est caché sous les eaux,
Le vent, après trois nuits,
Se précipite vers sa mère,

La mère demande au vent :
« Où avais-tu disparu ?
T'es-tu battu avec les étoiles ?
As-tu chassé les vagues ? »

« Je n'ai pas chassé les vagues de la mer,
Je n'ai pas touché aux étoiles dorées ;
Je veillais sur l'enfant,
Et berçais son petit berceau ! »
