Nach drei Nächten kehrt geschwind heim zur Mutter nun der Wind. Mutter fraget gleich den Wind: "Wo hast du getobt, mein Kind? Gegen Sterne dich gewagt? Wellen in dem Meer gejagt?" "Nein, ich jagte nicht das Meer, ließ in Ruh der Sterne Heer; doch ich schaukelte das Kind in der Wiege," sprach der Wind. Schlaf, mein Kindelein! Schlafe ein, schlafe ein! Träume süße Träumelein: Dann behüten mir mein Kind Sonne, Adler und der Wind.
