Verratene Liebe
(Sung text for setting by R. Schumann)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the French (Français)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE GRE IRI
Da nachts wir uns küßten, o Mädchen,
hat keiner uns zugeschaut.
Die Sterne, die standen am Himmel,
wir haben den Sternen getraut.

Es ist ein Stern gefallen,
der hat dem Meer uns verklagt,
da hat das Meer es dem Ruder,
das Ruder dem Schiffer gesagt.

Da sang der selbige Schiffer
es seiner Liebsten vor.
Nun singen's auf Straßen und Märkten
die Knaben und Mädchen im Chor.

Amor traït
(Sung text translation for setting by R. Schumann)
 See original
Language: Catalan (Català)  after the German (Deutsch)
Mentre de nit es besàvem, oh noia,
ningú ens estava mirant.
Les estrelles que estaven al cel,
en elles havíem confiat.

Fou una estrella que caigué
la que ens delatà al mar,
llavors el mar ho digué al rem,
i el rem ho digué al mariner.

Després, el mateix mariner
ho cantà davant la seva estimada.
Ara, als carrers i als mercats,
els nois i les noies ho canten en un cor.

Note: the text above is taken from stanzas 1-3 of the original text.
