Ich wollt, sie hätten statt der Wiege mir einen kleinen Sarg gemacht, dann wär mir besser wohl, dann schwiege die Lippe längst in feuchter Nacht. Dann hätte nie ein wilder Wille die bange Brust durchzittert, – dann wärs in dem kleinen Körper stille, so still wie’s niemand denken kann. Nur eine Kinderseele stiege zum Himmel hoch so sacht, – ganz sacht ... Was haben sie mir statt der Wiege nicht einen kleinen Sarg gemacht? –
